About

A journey from one artist to a whole community

Emma Power is predominantly a landscape artist. As she became more and more immersed in creating landscape paintings she realised the problem facing most landscape artists was where to exhibit and sell their work and how to show their landscapes to a wide audience.

For part time artists in particular it can be challenging to secure an exhibition in an established gallery. Art galleries in Ireland charge up to 45% commission on all sales.

In general online sales of all products are increasing steadily but landscape art tends to be slow to sell online in part due to the fact that it is hard to find.

Emma hopes that by creating this ILA website she helps make Irish Landscape Art more accessible to the public while providing landscape artists in Ireland with an online presence so that their art can be seen by a global audience.

The Vision

To create an online gallery where you can search by location for the landscape painting of your favourite place. This is a new approach and not available on any other website. It allows you to view landscape paintings and to connect with landscape artists all over Ireland from one platform.

Community of Artists

To provide both full time and part time landscape artists with an online gallery where they can exhibit and sell their work to a global audience.

About Emma

owner

Waterford artist Emma Power began painting in 2019 and oil paints became her medium of choice and she has over a short period of time become completely immersed in the process of painting and consistently strives to improve her skill.

In 2021 Emma was selected as a Big Looks Mentoring candidate under the guidance of mentor Dave West, a highly acclaimed landscape artist and wonderfully talented teacher. Dave shared his wealth of painting skills, knowledge and experience with her. The mentoring programme has been an intense learning process has enabled her to progress further in her painting practice. Since then Emma has been painting full time.

Emma participates in and exhibits at various plein air events every year including Wexford, Kinvara and Graiguenamanagh and has won several awards for her plein air work. She regularly paints indoors and out with fellow members of S.E.A. (South East Art) the art group that she founded in 2020.

As a predominantly landscape artist Emma found that many full time and part time landscape artists struggled to get their art noticed online. Until now there wasn’t a site where potential customers could search by location for a painting of their favourite place.

ILA.ie (Irish Landscape Art) has been created to provide that service, giving people the opportunity to find numerous paintings done by different artists of the landscape, seascape, cityscape etc. that they are interested in and at the same time showcasing artwork by landscape artists in Ireland that was not accessible online.
